Environmental sustainability
Forest conservation and reforestation
At the Tucuruí hydroelectric plant complex (PA), the Forest Germplasm Program works to preserve native species and support reforestation in the Amazon. Created in 1984, the initiative functions as a living gene bank, ensuring the conservation of more than 220 species, including endangered plants.

• Over 41 million seeds produced
• More than 800,000 seedlings generated over the years
With infrastructure dedicated to the production and analysis of seeds and seedlings, the program supplies environmental restoration projects in different regions of the country and contributes to the recovery of degraded areas.

Indigenous programs
We have been developing programs aimed at indigenous peoples since the 1980s, within the context of our projects in the Northern region.
Until 2025, these initiatives were led by Eletronorte, now AXIA Norte.
